What a cookie does

A cookie is a small piece of information stored by your browser for a website. It can retain a choice between page visits. Cookies belong to the browser and device where you make that choice: choosing on a phone does not automatically change a choice on another computer. Your browser settings can restrict or remove stored cookies.

Our first-party consent cookie

This website writes one first-party cookie, site_consent, to remember your cookie preferences. It records the preference categories you allow, the policy version and the time of your choice. Its purpose is to apply that choice on later visits and avoid asking you again on every page. It is retained for 180 days from saving the choice, unless you remove it sooner; saving a new choice renews that duration.

The consent cookie applies across this website. It is sent over HTTPS with the Secure and SameSite=Lax attributes. The site's consent controls read it in your browser. If it is deleted, expires or no longer matches the consent policy version, you will be asked to choose again. The strictly necessary preference cookie remains enabled when you reject optional cookies.

Optional Google Maps

The location map is supplied by Google. The embedded map is not loaded until you allow Maps in the cookie preferences and then select Show map. Allowing Maps alone does not request the embedded map. You can keep Maps disabled and continue reading the website and its location information.

When you load the map, your browser connects to Google and sends the information needed for that connection, including your IP address and browser request information. Google may read or set its own cookies, depending on your browser, Google sign-in state and choices with Google. For example, Google describes NID as a preference cookie with a six-month lifetime. This is an example, not a complete list or a promise that a particular cookie will be set.

Read Google's explanation of cookies and Google's Privacy Policy for its current purposes, durations and controls. Opening an external Google Maps link also takes you to Google, where Google's policies apply.

Analytics and other websites

This website does not load analytics or advertising tags. Its photographs and fonts are served as part of the site and do not require optional cookie consent. If you follow a booking or other external link, you leave this website. The destination may use its own cookies and privacy controls; your choice here does not configure another website.

Changing your choice

Use Manage cookies in the footer to reopen the preferences at any time. The banner's Manage control opens the same preferences. Turn Maps off and save your choices to prevent the embedded map from loading here. Reject all rejects optional categories; the preference cookie still remembers that decision. Changing your choice cannot undo information already sent to Google or remove Google's existing cookies. To remove those, use your browser's cookie controls or Google's own settings. Blocking or deleting the consent cookie may make the banner appear again.
